Always get the newest version of Java
All the games on Spigo are made with a programme that is called Java. If you would like to read more about this programme and the technology behind it, please go to: www.java.com/en/about/.
Java makes it possible to play games directly in your browser. Before you can play the games on Spigo you have to have Java installed on your computer. We advise that you use the newest version of Java at all times. We always adapt all our games to perform optimally with the latest version of Java. On the bottom of the homepage of Spigo you can find a link "Download Java" that leads you straight to a homepage where Java can be downloaded.

Close all open browser windows
 |
A good trick when starting a game is to first close ALL open browser windows. This will shut down Java. Java will start again when you log on Spigo and open a new game. That adds a lot of resources to Java so the games can run optimally. You can see that Java is off when the small Java coffee cup icon does not appear in the process line. The icon appears again once you start a game.
The same applies to if a game does not load, which as a rule, is due to the fact that Java is not up to date. If you close all browser windows, log on Spigo and reload a game Java will automatically check for a new version of the game. This doesn't happen unless all browser windows have been closed down. |
Close other programmes
| If you have a slow computer it can help to close other programmes that are open. This should not be necessary if you have a fairly fast computer. Note however, that some programmes and homepages that are open at the same time can take up all resources which can again cause problems for games, because they will have a lower priority. |

See the contents in the Java console (technically)
 |
If you experience an error and suspect it to be a serious one in either the game or Java, you can look "into the guts" of Java by looking in the Java console. The Java console is shown by right-clicking on the small Java icon which appears in the process line when Java is running. Choose "Open console" in the menu that comes up when you right-click on the icon. Here, and only here, critical Java errors and unforeseen errors in the games are printed. It usually shows exactly where the error has occured and it is therefore an enormous help for the developers of the games to see this. Send this to customer service and a developer will have a look at it.
However it needs to be mentioned that Spigo uses a system that automatically reports such errors to Spigo. This only reports specific Java related information and no personal information about our users. |
